We headed back in our trusty van to the City of Auxerre (where we began) to see a few site. It was raining quite hard so we kept our excursion to indoor places. We visited a beautiful cathedral, Cathedrale Saint-Etinne (St. Stephen). It is as large as Notre Dame and was built at the same time.
The carvings are so delicate and intricate. They almost look like filigree!
Below the cathedral we met our second surprise from our friend and guide Vincent (pronounced Vancent). There were crypts below! They were amazing!
